Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about pricing, process, and what to expect.

Price & scope

How do I know what’s a fair price for land clearing when quotes vary?

We give you a clear, project-based quote after we look at your property. Pricing depends on acreage, brush density, and terrain - not daily rates. You’ll know the cost up front with no surprise fees.

Why do quotes change once someone sees my property?

Brush thickness, slope, and access all affect how long the job takes and what equipment we use. We provide a fixed project price after we assess the site so you’re not guessing.

What’s included in “land clearing” - and what could cost extra?

Our forestry mulching includes clearing brush, small trees, and vegetation and grinding them into mulch on-site. There’s no hauling, no burning, and no separate debris-removal charges. The quote covers the work we agree on.

What hidden fees should I watch for?

We use fixed project pricing. No daily rates, hauling fees, or add-ons after the fact. The price we quote is what you pay.

Trust & professionalism

How do I find a contractor who actually shows up and finishes?

We’re veteran owned and treat every job like our name is on it. We communicate clearly, show up when we say we will, and finish the work. Ask us for references if you’d like to hear from other property owners in the area.

How can I confirm you’re licensed and insured?

We carry appropriate insurance and can provide proof when you request a quote or before we start. Don’t hesitate to ask - it’s the right thing to verify before any contractor brings equipment onto your land.

What should I ask to make sure a company is reliable?

Ask about experience, how they price (project vs. daily rate), what equipment they use, and whether they’re insured. We’re happy to answer all of that and to put you in touch with past customers if it helps.

Communication & process

What does a typical job look like from start to finish?

We start with a conversation about your goals and, when possible, a site visit. You get a clear quote, we agree on a schedule, and we show up and complete the work. We keep you in the loop so there are no surprises.

How do you handle weather and schedule changes?

We’ll let you know if weather will affect the schedule and reschedule as needed. Once we start, most residential jobs are done in one to two days depending on size and conditions.

What do I need to do before you arrive - boundaries, utilities, etc.?

Mark any property lines or areas you want left untouched. If you’re unsure about utilities, we can discuss calling 811 or other steps so we work safely on your property.

Results & quality

Can you clear steep or uneven land without tearing it up?

Our mulching equipment is built to work on varied terrain with minimal soil disturbance. We can discuss your specific slope and access so we use the right approach for your property.

Will heavy equipment damage my driveway or yard?

Our machines are designed to spread weight and limit ruts. We’re careful about access and where we work so we don’t damage driveways or areas you care about.

How do I keep cleared areas from growing back?

Some regrowth is normal. The mulch we leave helps suppress new growth at first. Regular mowing or light maintenance keeps it under control. We can suggest simple follow-up steps for your situation.

Are invasives like honeysuckle really gone, or just mulched over?

We grind vegetation down to the root level, which removes a lot of invasive growth. Tough species like honeysuckle or tree-of-heaven may need follow-up mowing or spot treatment for full control - we can point you in the right direction.

Safety, legal & neighbors

Who calls 811 before land clearing?

Utility marking is part of being safe before we clear. We’ll discuss whether you or we handle the 811 call based on your location and our process.

Do I need permits before clearing my land?

Many residential land-clearing projects in our area don’t require permits. If your property has special designations (wetlands, HOAs, etc.), we can talk through what might apply and what to check with the county or your HOA.

How do I make sure we don’t clear over the property line?

Clearly mark your boundaries and any no-go zones before we start. We work only within the area you designate so we never cross into a neighbor’s property.

What about erosion or runoff near creeks or slopes?

The mulch we leave helps hold soil and reduce runoff. On steeper or sensitive areas we can tailor how we work to limit disturbance. Tell us about any creeks, ditches, or slopes so we can plan accordingly.
